As a roving frottage artist, I work in movement—tracing the textured language of place wherever I go. Whether in Aotearoa or abroad, I seek out surfaces that carry stories: stone walls, wooden carvings, city pavements, sacred spaces. My practice captures these impressions using graphite rubbing techniques, preserving the memory held in matter.

Frottage is both a solitary ritual and a shared invitation. I often facilitate participatory sessions, inviting others to press, notice, and create their own memory-marked works. Together, we slow down, connect with our environment, and honour the quiet histories etched beneath our feet.

Every mark is a memory pressed into being.

Art is where the invisible becomes visible.

We don’t just draw – we remember.
